The Kansas City Chiefs look much better at WR for 2010
25-year old Dwayne Bowe missed a few games last season to a league suspension. But he’s been a good boy this off-season and he will be ready to go from Week #1 this year. Bowe played in 11 games (9 starts) for the Chiefs last season and he caught 47 passes for 589 yards (12.5 avg) with 4 TD grabs. He has now played in 43 games (40 starts) in his three years with the Chiefs and he has caught 203 passes for 2,606 yards (12.8 avg) with 16 TD grabs. Bowe gives the Chiefs a big, physical target in the passing game and I expect him to have over 1,000 in 2010 as long as he stays healthy.
31-year old Chris Chambers was a godsend for the Chiefs last season. He played in 16 games (14 starts) for the Chiefs & Chargers last season and he caught 45 passes for 730 yards (16.2 avg) with 5 TD grabs. Chambers has now played in 140 games (120 starts) in his 9 years in the NFL and he has caught 518 passes for 7,435 yards (14.4 avg) with 57 TD grabs. He has also carried the ball 44 times for 373 yards (8.5 ypc) in his career. Look for him to have a solid year for the Chiefs in 2010.
Rookie 2nd round pick Dexter McCluster was a RB in college but he will likely be the Chiefs’ #3 WR in 2010. He has electric speed as he can score whenever he touches the ball from anywhere on the field. He is small at 5’8″, 165 pounds but he’s very strong for the small frame. If McCluster can handle the workload he will be a solid WR for the Chiefs in 2010.
29-year old Jerheme Urban played in 10 games (0 starts) for the Cardinals last season and he caught 18 passes for 186 yards (10.3 avg). He has now played in 47 games (6 starts) in his five years in the NFL and he has caught 87 passes for 1,231 yards (14.1 avg) with 7 TD grabs. Urban played under Coach Haley in Arizona so look for him to catch at least twice as many passes as he did in 2009.
28-year old Terrance Copper will likely be the Chiefs’ #5 WR in 2010. Copper played in 15 games (2 starts) for the Chiefs last season and he caught 4 passes for 68 yards (17.0 avg). Copper has now played in 78 games (7 starts) in his six years in the NFL and he has caught 50 passes for 668 yards (13.4 avg) with 6 TD grabs.
