The Kansas City Chiefs will get a fifth round pick from the Dolphins

The Chiefs have received a fifth round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft to complete the Tyler Thigpen trade.  This is pretty good value for the player who really had no future with the Chiefs as their #3 QB.  It almost never hurts to trade spare players for draft picks so this winds up being a solid move for the Chiefs.

It’s always nice to get a draft pick for a player that was never going to make an impact for your club. You never know, this pick could turn into a great player for the Chiefs. Even if the pick doesn’t, its still gives them the opportunity for an impact player when they knew Thigpen was not the right fit in their organization.
