The Chiefs have released DE Eric Hicks. He played in all 16 games last season for the Chiefs and he only made 7 tackles. In his 9 year career, all with the Chiefs, he has played in 128 games and he made 320 tackles, had 44.5 sacks, defensed 11 passes, forced 7 fumbles and recovered 6 fumbles. This could be the end of Hicks NFL career.
The Chiefs finally have cut their ties to underachieving DT Ryan Sims as they shipped him to Tampa Bay for an undisclosed draft pick. Sims was a high first round pick of the Chiefs that was a complete bust for them. He played in all 16 games last season and he only made 7 tackles. In his 5 years with the Chiefs, Sims played in 59 games and he made 74 tackles, he had 5 sacks, 1 interception, defensed 1 pass, forced 1 fumble and recovered 1 fumble. At least the Chiefs got something for Sims as they almost just released him.
