Kyle Turley only played in 7 games last season (all starts), but those were his first games in a long time as he didn’t play a game in 2004 or 2005 due to a bad back.  Turley’s career is likely over.

The Chiefs have decided to release safety Sammy Knight.  Younger players have emerged that the Chiefs feel confident in that come at a cheaper price tag.  Knight still has game and shouldn’t have any problem finding a new job.  He played in all 16 games for the Chiefs last year and he made 83 tackles, had 2 sacks, 1 interception, defensed 3 passes and forced a fumble.

The Chiefs have signed Boone to a 4-year contract worth starters money even though he has been a backup to this point in his career.  Boone played in 12 games for the Bears last season and he made 26 tackles and had 2 sacks.  The 6′4″, 318 pound Boone should help the Chiefs run defense big time and they need that.

The Chiefs have re-signed DTs Ron Edwards and Jimmy Wilkerson.  Edwards played in all 16 games last season for the Chiefs and he made 20 tackles, sacked the QB 2.5 times and defensed a pass.  Wilkerson played in 13 games and made 24 tackles and defensed 2 passes.  These were good signings as you can never have enough decent D-linemen.

The Chiefs have signed Donnie Edwards to a three-year, $14 million dollar contract.  Edwards was awesome last season for the Chargers as he played in all 16 games and he made 141 tackles, has 2.5 sacks, intercepted 3 passes, defensed 4 passes, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.  Even though Edwards is getting old he has shown no signs of slowing down and he will definately improve the Chiefs defense.  Edwards has been incredible as he’s had 10 straight seasons of 100+ tackles.
