Chiefs choke against Browns and lose 31-28 in OT
The Chiefs played very well on the offensive side of the football, but the defense was pathetic. The Chiefs were winning 28-14 with 12:35 left in the football game and blew the lead to a QB that had never thrown an NFL pass until today after Charlie Frye hurt his wrist.
Trent Green played a fantastic game.  Green completed 24 of 32 passes for 297 yards with 4 TDs and 1 INT.  Larry Johnson carried the ball 28 times for 110 yards (3.9 ypc) and caught 2 passes for 26 yards. Michael Bennett carried the ball 3 times for 14 yards (4.7 ypc) and caught 4 passes for 33 yards. Eddie Kennison had a good game with 7 receptions for 117 yards and a TD. Tony Gonzalez was great with 9 receptions for 105 yards and 2 TDs.
Sammy Knight (10 tackles), Kawika Mitchell (11 tackles, INT) and Keyaron Fox (11 tackles, sack) all had good games for the Chiefs. The rest of the defense played very poorly. The Browns carried the ball 29 times for 150 yards (5.2 ypc). The Browns completed 23 of 34 passes for 288 net yards passing.
This loss really will hurt the Chiefs chances of making the playoffs this season.
