Chiefs get huge win over Broncos 19-10 on Turkey Day
The Kansas City Chiefs played a very good football game last night. They won the old-school way…..running the ball and playing defense.
Trent Green led a very conservative attack completing 13 of 22 passes for 161 yards and a INT. Larry Johnson tortured the Broncos defense with 34 carries for 157 yards (4.6 ypc) and a TD. Michael Bennett was great when given the opportunity with 2 carries for 56 yards (28.0 ypc) and he caught 2 passes for 20 yards. Samie Parker had a decent game with 3 grabs for 71 yards. Tony Gonzalez returned to the starting line-up and caught 4 passes for 35 yards.
The defense was outstanding all night long as they shut down the Broncos running game and did a good job on Javon Walker. DE Tamba Hali was really a trouble-maker for the Broncos with 6 tackles, 2 sacks and a forced fumble. The Chiefs held the Broncos to 38 yards rushing on 16 carries (2.4 ypc). The Broncos completed 25 of 39 passes for 206 net yards passing.
This was a huge win for the Chiefs as they improve to 7-4 on the season and are now tied with the Broncos for 2nd place in the AFC West.
