Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders
It looks as if both Aaron Brooks & Trent Green will be starting against each other after long injury lay-offs. Look for both of them to be a little rusty early in the game.Â
The Raiders really needed Brooks to come back, at least he can roll out a little bit to avoid the pass rush. Still, look for the Raiders to try to run the football right at the Chiefs defense. The Chiefs have allowed 113.8 yards rushing per game and 3.9 yards per carry. I also have a feeling that Aaron Brooks will have success throwing the football if the line gives him time. The Raiders have allowed 47 sacks already this season, but the Chiefs don’t have much of a pass rush other than DE Jared Allen who has six sacks.
Look for the Chiefs to come out running the football with Larry Johnson (891 yards rushing) to keep pressure off of Trent Green when they decide to throw the ball. The Raiders run defense has allowed 128.2 yards rushing per game and 3.9 yards per carry, so Johnson should have a good game. Look for Eddie Kennison to be involved in the pass offense alot more than he was with Damon Huard running the show. Also, the Chiefs will be without Tony Gonzalez and that could cripple the Chiefs throwing game.
The Chiefs should win a low-scoring game against the Raiders. Arrowhead stadium, the fans and Larry Johnson will lead the Chiefs to victory.
