Steelers dismantle the Chiefs 45-7
This game seemed like it was over after the Steelers first possession. Now you see why Herman Edwards is so conservative on offense……to protect the lousy defense. Damon Huard completed 16 of 32 passes for 162 yards and an interception. Rookie Brodie Croyle got a chance to play, but I’m sure it didn’t help him confidence. Croyle completed 3 of 7 passes for 23 yards and 2 INT, one of which was returned for a TD. The Steelers keyed on Larry Johnson from the get-go, holding him to 26 yards on 15 carries (1.7 ypc) and a TD. WR Samie Parker caught 5 passes for 72 yards and Eddie Kennison caught 3 passes for 57 yards.
The Chiefs defense got destroyed by the Steelers offense. The Steelers ran the ball 42 times for 219 yards (5.2 ypc). The Steelers also completed 17 of 20 passes for 238 net yards passing.
Herman Edwards needs to go to school and learn how to coach!

Well, I guess this about does it for me for this season with this team. Gotta look forward to next year. I see them losing the next two games and struggling to make it to .500 this year.
This is unbelievable, the most prolific offense in the league the past 4 years is whittled down to this. If not for the Raiders, the Chiefs would be the joke of the AFC West.
LJ is definately no Preist. Gonzales is a forgotten man. Ronnie Cruz is definately no Tony Richardson and Jonathon Black will never be a Willie Roaf. With this in mind, Herm decides to stay predictable and play smash mouth into defenses that are stacking the box with 8 men. Instead of mixing things up and passing or even going downfield on 1st down, Herm wants to run straight ahead for a average gain of 1 yard per carry. Then to top things off, we’ll just keep it conservative and run the very same play on 2nd and long for another gain of 1 yard.
I’m just speechless, this was one of the worst games I’ve ever seen the Chiefs participate in. This defense, which I’ve taken so much pride in, completely lost it this past weekend. They aren’t getting any breaks from the offense either, these 3 and outs are absolutely killing them.
this whole team just went down the drain. if edwards decided to keep al saunders, i thing the team would had a better chance to play the game. might thus well say the chiefs record right now is 0-5 cause who the 49′ers this year. their still rebuilding and cards. please there like what 1-4?
Edwards is so conservative because the Chiefs defense is awful. Those good numbers they posted in the first few games were against teams with bad offenses (except the Bengals).
All those teams had formidable offenses. The weakest offense that they’ve played to date was Denver’s, and they are 4-1. San Fran and Arizona sucks but their offense have been cranking, they just can’t stop anybody on defense. So the Chief’s defense was holding up until the Pittsburgh game, and again, I blame that on the non-existent offense.
